Informational Resources for Seniors

Senior Medicare Patrol

A program through the Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County, the Senior Medicare Patrol educates Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, family members, and caregivers about preventing, detecting and reporting health care fraud.

Billions of health care dollars are lost each year due to fraud, abuse, and waste. The SMP staff, along with dedicated volunteers, conduct presentations, distributes information and printed materials at community events such as health fairs, meet one-on-one with beneficiaries to review Medicare Summary Notices, answer questions and concerns, and research suspected cases of fraud, waste and abuse. As a result, SMPs help preserve the integrity of the Medicare and Medicaid programs, as well as help individuals protect their personal identity and prevent them from becoming the victims of a scam.

DrugWatch is an awareness group that aims to educate the public about prescription/ OTC drugs, medical devices, health procedures and the numerous health issues affecting specific populations, including the elderly.
