Crime Prevention Bureau


The members of the Crime Prevention Bureau are determined to deter crime by educating the public on the most effective crime prevention methods. The Crime Prevention Bureau actively provides the following services to the community:

  • Child identification events
  • Community group crime prevention presentations and seminars
  • Crime prevention news releases
  • Distribution of security reminders
  • Free home and business security surveys
  • National Night Out Against Crime event
  • Neighborhood Watch program
  • Proactive crime prevention initiatives
  • Vehicle theft prevention


The Maplewood Police Department's Crime Prevention Bureau is headed up by Sergeant Michael Palmerezzi and staffed by a cross section of eager and dedicated officers from a variety of backgrounds.
