OFFICE ASSISTANT (P/T), DEPT. OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Maplewood Township is seeking a Part-time Office Assistant in the Department of Community Development. The position specifically involves work within the Construction and Zoning Divisions of the Department. The Department hours are Mon- Fri 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The Office Assistant is expected to work part-time within these hours.
Our staffing needs require a self-motivated professional, highly organized individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities are administrative and clerical tasks ranging from application pricing permits, record management, customer service, phone support and filing. The Office Assistant will be supervised directly by the Assistant to the Construction Official.
The applicant must have excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills, as the position includes much interfacing with customers in person, via phone and thru written correspondences.
The applicant must be proficient in Spatial Data Logic, Edmunds software and Microsoft Office suite, and be able to type 60wpm. All skills are subject to be measurable.
Experience in Construction and Zoning, and a Bachelor’s Degree, is preferable. However, significant weight will be given to candidates with significant office experience, particularly in a Building Department environment.
